When the piston machinery (internal combustion engine, reciprocating compressor, etc.) works, if the air contains impurities such as dust, it will aggravate the wear of the parts, so it must be equipped with an air filter. The air filter is composed of two parts: a filter element and a housing. The main requirements of the air filter are high filtration efficiency, low flow resistance, and can be used continuously for a long time without maintenance.
effect
The air compartment is installed in the air intake position of the engine, which can effectively filter the dust and impurities in the air, so that the purity of the air entering the combustion chamber is greatly increased, so as to ensure that the fuel is fully burned.
Working mechanism
The air grid is composed of paper filters, seemingly simple structure, but the role can not be underestimated. The failure of the air grid will lead to insufficient gasoline combustion, insufficient engine power, and pollution of the throttle body, resulting in unstable idle speed, abnormal engine jitter and other symptoms.
There are three types of air filtration: inertia type, filter type and oil bath type
Inertial type: Because the density of impurities is higher than the density of air, when the impurities rotate or turn sharply with the air, the action of centrifugal inertia force can separate the impurities from the air stream.
Filter type: Guide the air through the metal filter screen or filter paper, etc., the impurities are blocked and adhered to the filter element.
(3) Oil bath type: an oil pan is provided at the bottom of the air filter, and the impurities are separated and stuck in the oil by the air flow, and the oil droplets that are stirred up flow through the filter element and adhere to the filter element. When the air flows through the filter element, it can further adsorb impurities, so as to achieve the purpose of filtration.
